Preparation

  • Season the filet mignon steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the honey and Dijon mustard.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  • In the same skillet, add the honey mustard mixture and stir to combine, adjusting the consistency with water or broth if needed.
  • Serve the filet mignon drizzled with the sauce and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For special occasions, marinate the steaks ahead of time with salt and pepper. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat gently in a skillet. Substituting steak with chicken is a great family-friendly option.
