Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole

Ingredients
  

Meat and Toppings

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni

Sauce and Seasonings

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp Italian seasoning, divided
  • 1 26-oz jar tomato basil pasta sauce

Cheeses

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Crust

  • 1 13.8-oz can refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425º F.
  • Lightly spray a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and sausage for about 5-7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain the fat and return the meat to the skillet.
  • Add the pepperoni, sprinkle in the flour, and add 3 tsp of the Italian seasoning. Stir until blended.
  • Pour in the tomato basil pasta sauce and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Unroll the pizza crust and place it on top of the cheese. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with the remaining Italian seasoning, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, and the parmesan cheese.

Cooking

  • Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

You can make this casserole ahead of time and refrigerate until you're ready to bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350º F for 15-20 minutes.
