  • 1 lb ground beef Use high-quality beef for better flavor.
  • 1 cup caramelized onions Can use homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like Swiss or Gruyère) Feel free to substitute with cheddar or any preferred cheese.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with oats or crushed crackers.
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Helps bind the ingredients together.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, caramelized onions, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For meal prep, shape and cover the meatloaf in the fridge up to 24 hours before baking. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for 3 months. To reheat, microwave for 1-2 minutes or heat gently in a skillet.
