Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Asiago cheese, grated Can substitute with Parmesan cheese.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

Cooking Chicken

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, and place in the skillet. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let rest.

Preparing Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic and sauté for a few minutes until browned and tender.
  • Pour in heavy cream and let it simmer for a couple of minutes. Stir in grated Asiago cheese until melted and creamy.

Combining

  • Return chicken to the skillet and coat generously in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Garnishing

  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For meal prep, prepare the sauce earlier and reheat before serving. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. This dish doubles well for larger gatherings.
