  • 3 large large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener (optional)
  • Food coloring (pastel colors)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks.
  • Beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  • In another bowl, mix the egg yolks, cream cheese (or yogurt), and sweetener until smooth.
  • Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture until just combined.
  • Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each to create your desired pastel shades.
  • Carefully spoon the colored batters onto the prepared baking sheet, swirling them together lightly to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and set.
  • Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. It can be reheated in the microwave for a few seconds for that fresh-out-of-the-oven taste. This loaf can also be frozen for longer storage.
