Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth; the mixture should have a lovely consistency.

Building the Cobbler

  • Pour melted butter into the greased dish, then carefully add the batter on top without stirring.
  • Layer the banana slices on top of the batter, then sprinkle with brown sugar.
  • Pour the hot water over the entire mixture without stirring.

Baking

  • Bake for about 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
